Ham Salad Recipe

Diced Ham is perfectly seasoned to make a light salad that is fresh and flavorful. A great salad to use leftover baked ham. Keep it low-carb and serve in lettuce wraps. For a hearty sandwich use croissants or your favorite bread.

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the ham, celery, dill pickles, mayonnaise, yellow mustard, and pepper. 
  • Taste, if needed, adjust the seasoning, if desired. You can also add a bit of dill pickle juice.
  • Scoop the mixture into a food processor and pulse a few times if you prefer a chunky salad. If you prefer a smooth salad or spread, puree the ingredients until smooth. Note 2
  • Place the mixture in a covered airtight container. Refrigerate the mixture for at least 30 minutes up to overnight.
  • To serve, leep it low-carb and serve in lettuce wraps or stuffed celery. For a hearty lunch, serve on your favorite bread or croissant.

Note 1: Leftover ham is perfect for this recipe. You can also use a ham steak. Be sure to cook the ham steak according to the manufacturer's instructions before adding to the salad. Also, feel free to use a piece of ham from your Delicatessen counter or deli section of your local grocer. 
Note 2: If you don't have a food processor, you can finely chop the ingredients. A mini chopper can also work. Just chop in batches.
