Enjoy these grilled orange teriyaki pork chops that are ready in no time. The marinade adds the perfect flavors for the juiciest pork chops. Perfect for any night. Use either a grill pan or a grill for the best grilled pork chops.
In a small saucepan over medium heat, heat add 1 Tablespoon olive oil. Add 1 medium chopped yellow onion and sauté about 2 minutes to soften the onions. Add 2 cloves minced garlic and ½ teaspoon fresh ginger (minced), sauté for another 30 to 40 seconds to bloom the garlic and soften the ginger.
To the pan, add ½ cup orange juice, 3 Tablespoons homemade teriyaki sauce, 2 Tablespoons raw honey, ½ teaspoon salt, and ½ teaspoon black pepper. Stir occasionally for about 5 minutes to blend flavor. Remove from heat, let cool slightly. Use an immersion blender or blender to blend the marinade until smooth.
Divide the marinade into two equal portions. Place the first half of the marinade in a storage bag or large bowl with pork chops to marinate forat least 30 minutes to overnight.
The second half of the teriyaki marinade will be used to brush onto the pork while grilled. Store it in an airtight container in the refrigerator until ready to grill.
How to Grill the Teriyaki Pork Chops
Preheat the grill or grill pan to medium-high heat. (Grill temperature should be 400 degrees) Remove pork from marinade.
Place the marinated pork chops on the grill for about 4 minutes per side. Brush the teriyaki marinade on the pork chops while they are grilling.
When the pork chops are cooked through, the internal temperature of the pork should be 145°F/63°C. Let pork rest about 5 minutes before serving.
Optional, sprinkle with chopped fresh parsley before serving. Serve along with your favorite sides.
Notes
Note 1: I use pork chops about 1 ½ inches thick. They are about 6 to 8 ounces each. If using boneless pork chops, keep in mind they cook faster. Note 2: If using a blender, hot liquids expand when blending, so please use caution and cover the blender with a towel when blending warm or hot liquids. Note 3: The teriyaki marinade and fresh pork chops can be frozen in freezer bags prior to grilling. As the pork defrosts, they marinate in the orange teriyaki sauce. The pork/marinade can be frozen up to 3 months.
