In a large bowl mix honey, soy sauce, rice wine vinegar, Hoisin Sauce, sesame oil, garlic, and black pepper.
Remove half of the marinade and pour in a medium-size bowl. Set aside.
To the original bowl of marinade, add the chicken wings and let rest in the refrigerator for 6 hours OR overnight.
Preheat the air fryer for 5 minutes at 350° F /180°C.
Put 6-7 chicken wings in the air fryer basket. Cook for 5 minutes on one side then turn the chicken and cook for another 5 minutes or until nicely browned.
Repeat with the rest of the chicken wings.
In a large skillet over medium-high heat, add reserved marinade. Simmer, stirring occasionally until the sauce thickens. Set aside.
To serve, drizzle the sauce over the air-fried chicken wings. Garnish with sesame seeds, chili flakes, and chopped spring onions.
