Instructions

Step 1: In a large bowl mix honey, soy sauce, rice wine vinegar, Hoisin Sauce, sesame oil, garlic, and black pepper.
Step 2: Remove half of the marinade and pour into a medium-sized bowl. Set aside.
Step 3: To the original bowl of marinade, add the chicken wings and let rest in the refrigerator for 6 hours OR overnight.
Step 4: Preheat the air fryer for 5 minutes at 350° F /180°C.
Step 5: Put 6-7 chicken wings in the air fryer basket. Cook for 5 minutes on one side then turn the chicken and cook for another 5 minutes or until nicely browned.
Step 6: Repeat with the rest of the chicken wings.
Step 7: In a large skillet over medium-high heat, add the reserved marinade. Simmer, stirring occasionally until the sauce thickens. Set aside.
Step 8: To serve, drizzle the sauce over the air-fried chicken wings. Garnish with sesame seeds, chili flakes, and chopped spring onions.

To freeze, lay the cooked wings on a large baking tray, be sure they are not touching, and in the freezer for about 1 hour to freeze them. Then the wings can be transferred to a freezer-safe bag and kept in the freezer for up to 3 months.
