    Eileen's Tips for Success

    • If you are using frozen wings, ensure the wings are thawed and dry before beginning the recipe.
    • Try crinkling the parchment paper before placing it on the baking sheet. It will help it lay flat.
    • Don't place the wings too close together on the baking sheet. They will steam instead of roast.
    • Giving the wings space on the baking sheet allows a crispy exterior and juicy interior.

    Frequently Asked Questions

To ensure crispy wings, it's best to put the sauce on the wings after they have been cooked.

Do you want to change up this recipe? Here are some ways to change the flavor of this dish.

    • BBQ Sauce: If you want to add spice to the wings, add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the BBQ sauce.
    • Our Chipotle BBQ sauce is another option to try on these baked wings.
    • Try using different sauces on your wings. Teriyaki sauce, honey mustard, or buffalo sauce all work on the wings.
    • Garnish: Fresh parsley or fresh thyme works well for garnish.

Make ahead, storage, and freezer tips

Storage - Store leftover BBQ chicken wings in an airtight container in the fridge for 2-3 days.

Freezing - You can also freeze leftover cooked chicken wings in the freezer. Store them in a freezer-safe container for up to 3 months. Thaw in the refrigerator overnight before reheating.

Reheating - I've found that the best way to reheat wings is in the oven. Preheat your oven to 350°F (177°C) and reheat on a baking sheet for 7-10 minutes or until warm all the way through.

BBQ Sauce: use your favorite store-made sauce or any of your favorite homemade BBQ Sauce.
Serving Suggestion: The wings can be served with your favorite dipping sauce. I recommend ranch dressing or blue cheese dressing.
Storage Instructions: Place leftover wings into a covered airtight container and refrigerate for up to 3 days. To reheat, either microwave until heated through or air fry until heated through. The air fryer will get them to be crispier.
