3slicesAmerican cheese any of your favorite cheese brands can be used.
3 hamburger buns
1cupiceburg lettuce, shredded
1mediumtomato (sliced thin)
1smallyellow onion (thinly sliced)
Thousand Island dressing
Instructions
Divide 1 pound ground beef into 3 even amounts. Mold and flatten into a patty. Make sure the center of the patty is thinner than the edge portion. This will allow for an even cook and maintain the size proportions as it cooks.
Season the patties evenly on both sides with ½ teaspoon kosher salt, ½ teaspoon black pepper, and ½ teaspoon garlic powder.
Place the burgers in the air fryer basket. I like to line my air fryer with aluminum for easy clean-up as well as keeping the patties in the juice.
Cook at 350°F for 5 minutes, flip the burgers and cook an additional 5 minutes for a medium well hamburger. Longer or shorter than 2 minutes for the desired cook. For cheeseburgers, after cooking for 5 minutes, flip the burgers and cook an additional 4 minutes. Then top each burger with one of the 3 slices American cheese and cook for 1 more minute.
To assemble, open each of the 3 hamburger buns and place the cheeseburger on the bottom bun with some of the 1 cup iceburg lettuce, shredded1 medium tomato (sliced thin), a slice of the 1 small yellow onion (thinly sliced), and Thousand Island dressing and add the top bun.
Serve and enjoy.
