Philly Cheesesteak Sloppy Joes are a quick and easy dinner idea for busy days. These delicious sandwiches can be made on the stovetop or in a slow cooker.
In a large skillet, over medium heat, add 1 pound ground beef, 1 diced yellow onion, and 1 diced green bell pepper, and 1½ cups diced mushrooms. Break up the ground beef and saute until all the meat is browned and vegetables are soft.
Drain and discard any fat.
In a small mixing bowl, whisk together ½ cup beef broth, 1 TablespoonWorcestershire sauce,1 Tablespoon cornstarch, ½ teaspoon salt, ½ black pepper, and ½ garlic powder. Pour the beef broth mixture into the skillet with the ground beef mixture.
Let the mixture simmer over low heat, about 5-6 minutes. The broth will thicken slightly and flavors will blend. Check seasoning, if needed, adjust seasoning.
Mix in 6 slices of provolone cheese to the beef mixture. Stir to blend the cheese with the beef mixture.
Place the meat on hamburger buns and serve.
Slow Cooker Instructions

Drain and discard any grease. Add the meat mixture to the slow cooker vessel.
In a small mixing bowl, whisk together ½ cup beef broth, 1 Tablespoon Worcestershire sauce, 1 Tablespoon cornstarch, ½ teaspoon salt, ½ teaspoon black pepper, and ½ teaspoon garlic powder. Add the broth mixture to the slow cooker and stir to combine.
Cook on low for 4-6 hours, 15 minutes before serving, check seasoning, if needed, adjust seasonings add 6 slices of provolone cheese to the slow cooker. Cover and let cook another 15 minutes or until cheese is melted. Stir to combine.
Place the meat on hamburger buns and serve.
