Eileen's Tips for the best Brownies

    • Be careful not to overmix the batter after adding the dry ingredients, as this can make the brownies tough instead of tender.
    • Make sure the cherries are well-drained before folding them into the batter to prevent excess moisture.
    • Use high-quality cocoa powder and chocolate chips to achieve the best rich chocolate flavor.
    • Allow the brownies to cool completely before cutting so you get clean, neat slices.

    Variations to Chocolate Cherry Brownies

Do you want to change up this recipe?

    • Fruit: You can swap the cherries for raspberries or strawberries for a slightly different fruity flavor.
    • Nuts: Try adding chopped nuts like walnuts or pecans for a bit of crunch.
    • Chocolate: Use dark chocolate chips instead of semisweet for a deeper, more intense chocolate taste.
    • For an extra indulgent finish, drizzle chocolate ganache over the brownies after they have cooled.

    Cherry Chocolate Brownie FAQs

    Can I use frozen cherries?

Yes, make sure they are thawed and well-drained before adding to the batter.

How do I know when brownies are done?

A toothpick should come out with a few moist crumbs but not wet batter.

Can I make these in a smaller pan?

Yes, but the brownies will be thicker and may need additional baking time.
