    💭 Expert Tips

Expert Tip: Be careful when mixing your brownie batter so that you don’t over-mix it. This will help your brownies stay fudgy and chewy.

    📋 Frequently Asked Questions

What is the secret of a good brownie?

The secret to a good brownie is using the right ratio of butter, sugar, eggs and cocoa powder. You also want to make sure you don't overmix the batter.

How to tell when brownies are done?

Brownies are done when a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean or with just a few crumbs. The edges should be slightly firm but the center should still look glossy and moist. You can also test for doneness by pressing lightly on the top of the brownies; they should bounce back slightly when finished baking.

Should I let candy bar brownies cool before cutting?

Yes, it is best to let your brownies cool completely before cutting them. This will help the brownies hold their shape better and make for easier slicing.

    📖 Variations

Do you want to change up this candy bar brownies recipe? Here are some ways that you increase the flavor of this dish.

    • Swap out the peanut butter chips and add white chocolate chips for a slightly different flavor.
    • Mix ½ cup of peanut butter into the batter before baking if you want more peanut butter flavor.
    • Top with melted caramel and sea salt for a sweet-salty treat
    • Use a combination of different candy bars, such as Butterfinger, kit kat, and Hershey’s bars.
    • Use different nuts such as walnuts or almonds instead of peanuts.
