    1. In a large pot cook the egg noodles according to the package directions. Drain and set aside.

    Eileen's Tips for Success

    • Check the package directions for your egg noodles. Different brands have different cooking times.
    • If you have a Dutch oven or a large cast iron skillet, you can bake it in that dish instead of moving it to a casserole pan.
    • To keep the fried onions crispy, do not cover the casserole while it bakes.

    Ingredients

    • 10 ounces dry egg noodles
    • 1 pound 80/20 ground beef
    • 8 ounces white button mushrooms (sliced thin)
    • 1 teaspoon salt
    • 1 teaspoon black pepper
    • 1 teaspoon onion powder
    • 2(10 ounce) cans, cream of mushroom soup
    • 1 cup sour cream
    • 1 cup French onion dip homemade or store-bought
    • 1 cup Gouda cheese (shredded)
    • ½ cup French fried onions
    • fresh chopped parsley optional garnish
    • non-stick cooking spray

    Instructions

    • Preheat oven to 350°F/180°C. Spray a 9 x 13-inch baking dish with non-stick cooking spray, set aside. Cook 10 ounces dry egg noodles according to the package directions. Drain the noodles and set aside.

    • In a large saute pan brown 1 pound 80/20 ground beef over medium-high heat until almost browned through. Add 8 ounces white button mushrooms (sliced thin) to the pan. Continue to saute until the meat is fully browned and the mushrooms are soft. Drain and discard any excess grease in the pan.
    • To the ground beef mushroom mixture, add 1 teaspoon salt, 1 teaspoon black pepper, 1 teaspoon onion powder, 2(10 ounce) cans, cream of mushroom soup, 1 cup sour cream, 1 cup French onion dip, and the cooked egg noodles. Mix to combine ingredients.
    • Pour the beef mixture into the prepared baking dish. Sprinkle 1 cup Gouda cheese (shredded) and ½ cup French fried onions over the beef mixture. Bake uncovered in the preheated oven for 20 minutes. The beef and cheese mixture will be hot and cooked through. The cheese melted.
    • Optional garnish with fresh chopped parsley . Ready to serve.
