    Steps to make green smoothie
    1. In the base of a blender, add all the ingredients; yogurt, milk, avocado, kale, spinach, chia seeds, and ice cube. Blend until smooth.

    • Green smoothies are super flexible when it comes to ingredients. Use this as a base and experiment.

    Do you want to change up this recipe? Here are some ways that you increase the flavor of this dish.

    Yogurt - Use your favorite yogurt, Greek yogurt, fat-free, or full-fat, vanilla yogurt, or plain yogurt can also be used in this recipe.

    Unsweetened almond milk - Coconut milk, oat milk, or regular milk all can be used to make this smoothie. Coconut water is another option to use in the smoothie.

    Avocado - The avocado adds richness to the smoothie. Other options to add to the green smoothie would be banana, peanut butter, or tofu.

    Greens - Some variations to use instead of kale and spinach can be baby spinach or baby kale, Swiss chard, or beet greens.

    Chia Seeds - Hemp seeds are an option to add to this smoothie.

    Easy add-ins:

    Nut Butter: Peanut butter, almond butter, or sunflower butter are a few types of nut butters to add to a green smoothie.

    Protein Powder can be added for additional nutritional value.

    Fruit: Add any additional fruit such as a frozen banana for more sweetness.

    Ingredients

    • 1 cup unsweetened almond milk
    • ½ cup vanilla fat free yogurt
    • 1 whole avocado halved and pitted
    • 1 cup kale washed if fresh kale
    • 1 cup spinach washed if using fresh spinach
    • 1 kiwi peeled
    • 1 teaspoon chia seeds
    • ½ cup ice cubes

      We make this smoothie often and it’s delicious. I use the exact ingredients and occasionally add in whatever is left in the refrigerator that needs to be used up.

      I do love green smoothies! The one I usually make is similar to what you posted, except I often add frozen chunks of pineapple and mango, and use 100% orange/pineapple/banana juice instead of almond milk.

      I tried something similar recently: almond milk, baby leaf spinach, green apples and cinnamon which is meant to be good for digestive and bowel issues but it made me very sick so I just stick to my standard ' strawberry, raspberry, banana, honey and natural yogurt smoothie which tastes a lot nicer!
