Nothing is better than a nutricious green smoothie filled with antioxidants is perfect for any morning or after workout treat! Get a bunch of your favorite superfoods in one smoothie!
I know it is still summer, I don’t know about you but I have had some fun with dips and chips this week! Whether I was in the pool, at the beach – there was always a bowl of creamy onion dip and chips and I never checked – but I bet it wasn’t fat-free sour cream used to prepare the dip. So it is now the time for me to get it together and get back on track. I don’t get how people tell me they loose weight in the summer – between barbeque, fun drinks, and dip – I am a goner!! This summer was a little worse for me because I had an operation so excersize was really out of the question so I am ready to get myself refocused! Nothing better than a green smoothie with yummy leafy greens and it looks pretty.
I like to use fat free vanilla yogurt. Dannon makes Fit and Light which is fat free and delicious! It is great on its own with fruit – but a super addition to smoothies. Then adding in leafy spinach, kale, avocado and rounding it out with chia seeds – a really nutrient enriched smoothie. Chia seeds are a super food so any chance to add them into what I am eating it is always a plus! If you like your smoothies a little sweeter, feel free to add raw honey or a sweetener of your choice. I love this in the morning – its so quick and easy to prepare and its filling. Great before taking a long walk or going to the gym.

- 1/2 cup vanilla fat free yogurt
- 1 cup unsweetened almond milk
- 1 whole avocado, halved and pitted
- 1 cup kale
- 1 cup spinach
- 1 tsp chia seeds
- 1/2 cup ice cubes
- Combine all the above incredients in a blender. Blend until smooth. Serve immediately.
