    Air Fryer Mozzarella Medallions

The air fryer is one of my favorite ways of cooking food I usually fry. The end results are better for you because only a little oil or non-stick spray. I love these mozzarella medallions because they look so pretty and a bit sophisticated. Same idea as a cheese stick but prettier. These are great served with marinara sauce or a nut-free basil pesto.

    Ingredients

Ingredients: mozzarella slices, egg, Panko bread crumbs on a white table.

The Panko breadcrumbs give a nice crunch. You can use seasoned or regular bread crumbs in this recipe.

We use the fresh mozzarella in log form. If using a block of mozzarella you will need to cut the cheese in half and then slice each half.

    Why this recipe works

Everyone loves fried mozzarella but there are those calories that come with frying. Using the air fryer is a wonderful way to enjoy food that is normally fried in a better for you way. These mozzarella medallions are air fried without any added oil which give a fantastic crispy, crunchy exterior. The mozzarella is perfectly cooked and cheesy delicious.

Using fresh ingredients are far superior to using store made mozzarella sticks that are loaded with preservatives. The end results are mouthwateringly delicious. mozzarella medallions that were made in the air fryer stacked on a grey round plate with a black and white checkerboard linen to the left side of the plate.
