    1. In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until fully browned throughout.

Place cooked ground beef in your crockpot. Discard excess grease.

To the ground beef, add diced onion, garlic, diced tomatoes, tomato paste, Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper.

    Storage

The leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days.

    Expert Tips

Expert Tip: Don't lift the lid during the cooking of the noodles. Removing the lid will slow down the cooking time.

    Frequently Asked Questions

    Can I freeze leftovers?

I don't recommend freezing it, the noodles will become mushy.

    How to reheat?

To reheat, add a couple of tablespoons of water or milk and then heat in a microwave-safe dish string every 30 seconds until heated through.

What size slow cooker do I need?

I used an 8-quart slow cooker. I don't recommend using a smaller one.

    Variations

    • Substitute ground beef with ground turkey or chicken.
    • Instead of beef broth, use vegetable broth or chicken broth if you need to.
    • Add sliced mushrooms to the skillet when you add the onion and garlic to increase the vegetables in this dish.
    • Add 2 teaspoons of Italian seasoning to the sauce for more flavor.
    • Stir in a few tablespoons of heavy cream just before serving for an extra creamy touch.

    NOTES

Be sure to check Expert Tips and FAQs above with important tips and questions that can help make a delicious recipe
Note 1: a blend of 80/20 ground beef is my first choice. Ground turkey or chicken can be used for this recipe.
Note 2: We use full fat or 2% milk.
Note 3: Pre-shredded cheese has a film on it which makes it difficult to melt. I prefer to shred a block of cheese when cooking.
Note 4: If looking to reduce sodium, use sodium-free beef broth and no-salt tomatoes.
