Easy Air Fryer Taquitos, which can also be baked are a delicious Mexican appetizer or meal made with tortillas, shredded chicken, salsa and spices. These easy rolled tacos have the crispiest exterior with a perfectly seasoned filling.
Air Fryer Taquitos
Our taquitos are rolled tortillas filled with shredded chicken. You can also use shredded Mexican beef to make air fryer taquitos.
Leftover rotisserie chicken is also great to use up in these tasty Mexican rolled tacos.
For this recipe, I use both flour and corn tortillas.
Flautas generally use flour tortillas. Some may not enjoy corn tortillas, so a combo of corn and flour tortillas pleases everyone.
The flavors of the taquitos are super fresh. Top them with your favorite salsa, guacamole, and any of your favorite toppings.

FAQs and Tips
- Corn tortillas can be a bit tough to work with sometimes. Dampen a paper towel, wrap the corn tortillas in the dampened paper towel and microwave for about 30 – 40 seconds so they are more pliable.
- Regardless of air frying or baking, be sure to not have the taquitos touching. This ensures a crispy exterior.
- We have found putting our oil in a food safe spray bottle is easier than using a non-stick spray. Especially great for baking and air frying.
Leftovers/ Freezer FAQs
- Any leftovers can be kept in a covered container for up to 4 days. Reheat in the microwave, following manufacturers instructions. Another option, in the oven at 350°F in an oven safe dish for about 10 minutes, until hot.
- These chicken taquitos freeze really well. They can be frozen up to 3 months in a freezer safe container. Defrost overnight in the fridge and use the air fryer or oven instructions.
