Believe it or not, Nutella is pretty easy to make at home and it's a lot cheaper, too! So, today I'm sharing with you my recipe for Homemade Nutella. It's a delicious, chocolatey hazelnut spread that can save you a trip to the grocery store when you get a craving!

- Preheat the oven to 400°F/205°C.
- Place the hazelnuts on a baking sheet and roast for 10 minutes, stirring halfway through.
- Allow the hazelnuts to cool slightly before handling. Once cooled, place them in a towel and gently rub the nuts until the skins come off— this should take about 5 minutes.
- Place the hazelnuts in a food processor and pulse until they resemble finely ground coffee— about 10-15 pulses.
- Add in the powdered sugar, cocoa powder, vegetable oil, vanilla extract, and chopped chocolate. Process until it is smooth and creamy— about five minutes.
- The mixture will become thick before it becomes smooth and creamy— just keep scraping down the sides of the bowl and processing and it will come together.
- Transfer to a sealable jar and store in the refrigerator for up to 3 weeks.
Storage
This homemade Nutella recipe can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 weeks. It is best consumed within this timeframe, but it can also be frozen for longer periods of time if needed.
To thaw, simply move the jar to the refrigerator a day before you need it and then allow it to sit at room temperature for a couple of hours. You can also pop it in the microwave or warm it gently it on the stovetop if needed.
