My love of pork recipes run deep runs deep. Pork chops and Sauerkraut and Instant Pork Tenderloin are two of my most popular recipes. For those who follow along on my insta-stories on Instagram know I received a much-wanted air fryer for Christmas. This is the first of many air fryer recipes I will be sharing.

Ingredients:

boneless pork chops: 5 ounces each.

Italian flavored bread crumbs: gives a crispy crunchy exterior to the pork.

egg: to dip the chops into so bread crumbs adhere to the meat.

salt and pepper: season the egg wash for flavor.

olive oil spray: prevents chops from sticking to the air fryer.

Air Fryer Breaded Pork Chops

Why this recipe works:

  • The bread crumbs add a crispy exterior to the chops.
  • The air fryer makes a healthier choice for cooking the pork without adding oil.
  • Pork is a lean and good choice for a tasty dinner.

What temperature should pork be when cooking is complete?

As per USDA Food and Safety, pork chops should be cooked to a minimum of 145°F. Use an instant-read thermometer to check the internal temperature of cooked meat.

Can I use a bone-in chop for this recipe?

Absolutely,bone-in chops may need another 2-3 minutes cooking time.

Can egg whites be used in lieu of egg for a lower calorie count?

Sure. I keep a carton of egg whites in the fridge and often use them to for an egg wash. It is a lower cholesterol choice.

Do I need to preheat the air fryer for this recipe?

My air fryer does an auto preheat. Follow your manufacturer's instructions if it needs a preheat time.

Tips to make the most delicious pork chops:

  • Don't stack the pork chops in the air fryer basket. Spread them out to cook.
  • Depending on your air fryer, flipping the food at the halfway cooking time is best for the crispiest results.

Can I use my Air Fryer oven? Would cooking time be the same?

I have made these pork chops in my larger Air Fryer oven using the same temperature and cooking times with delicious results. However, all ovens are not the same. My suggestion is to use the same oven temperature and check for doneness at about 10 minutes using an instant read thermometer, the temp should be at 145°F when cooked through. Please feel free to ask any other questions and I hope you enjoy the recipe.

Not a fan. I had 7 pork chops so doubled the recipe. I used the air fryer setting on my oven. They never got brown or very crispy. Seasoning was bland.

Hmm, I would love to trouble shoot for you because these pork chops get lots of excellent reviews and I've never had an issue with the crispiness. My concern is two things, doubling the recipe, did you measure out the ingredients? If you did not measure the seasoning may be off. The second question is 7 pork chops, did you air fry all at once? The air in the fryer will not circulate properly if it is overcrowded. That would most definitely affect the crispiness of the chop. Let me know so I can help you have a better experience.

Such an easy recipe but it's packed with so much flavor. My first time making pork chops in the air fryer too and I think this will be my new method of cooking them. Thanks!

I am addicted to my air fryer and have been shocked at how awesome meats turn out. This recipe is wonderful. The pork chops come out crispy yet tender. Much healthier than pan frying!

Got my air fryer for Christmas and have made this recipe twice. My husband loves breaded pork chops but I wasn't really a fan until I made them in the air fryer. So good and so easy!
