    Variations

Do you want to change up this recipe? Here are some ways that you can change the flavor of the recipe.

    • Instead of chocolate chips in this delicious recipe, next time use chocolate shavings instead of chocolate chips.
    • You can also add fudge swirls by swirling in some hot fudge before you allow the mint ice cream to harden.
    • Another great addition to this family favorite is chopped Oreo cookies or mint crème-filled cookies. Fold them in gently instead of chocolate chips for even more flavor.

    Frequently Asked Questions

How long can you store homemade ice cream in the freezer?

Homemade ice cream can typically be stored in the freezer for 2-3 weeks.
However, it is best to eat it within the first week for optimal freshness and flavor. If kept longer, the texture may become icy and the flavor may dull.

What is the difference between churned and no-churn ice cream?

Churned ice cream requires a special machine that constantly stirs the ice cream as it freezes, creating a smoother texture.
No-churn ice cream does not require a machine and uses only a few simple ingredients, resulting in a slightly denser but equally delicious treat.

What does a Grasshopper cocktail taste like?

A Grasshopper cocktail typically has a minty and chocolatey flavor, similar to a peppermint patty candy.
It is made with crème de menthe, creme de cacao, and cream or milk.
