- When finished, release the pressure valve for an instant release. Once all steam is released, open the lid. Remove meat and shred the meat with a fork. Add the meat back to the Instant Pot with peppers. For a thicker sauce, add one Tablespoon of cornstarch.

How to store, reheat, and freeze
Storage - Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to three days. I recommend that you store leftovers unassembled.
Reheat - Reheat the leftovers in the microwave or in a skillet over medium heat. Then assemble and bake per the directions above.
Freezing - You can freeze the beef mixture, cheese, and rolls. However, you will need to freeze them separately.
Expert Tips
Expert Tip: To avoid the dreaded "burn" notice on your Instant Pot, make sure to add enough liquid. We find that ½ to 1 cup is usually plenty. If you are unsure, it is always better to add more liquid than not enough.
Frequently Asked Questions
I prefer to use hanger steaks, or very thinly sliced ribeye steaks for Philly cheesesteaks.
If you have the time, I highly recommend marinating the meat. This will help to tenderize the meat and infuse it with flavor. However, if you are short on time, you can skip this step.
I love to add a little BBQ sauce, ketchup, or mayo to my Hawaiian roll Philly cheesesteak slider.
