    Beef Sliders

    • ground beef
    • Kosher salt
    • Worcestershire sauce
    • garlic powder
    • smoked paprika
    • homemade Hawaiian slider buns store bought or dinner rolls
    • cheddar cheese, sliced

    Garlic Ketchup

    • ketchup
    • sweet
    • sweet chili sauce
    • grated garlic
    • fresh basil, julienned

    Ingredient Notes

    • I use 80/20 ground beef but you could use a different fat proportion-- or make turkey sliders!
    • Salt, garlic powder, and smoked paprika add great flavor that enhance the meatiness of the sliders. If you have a pre-made burger seasoning, you could also use 2 ½ teaspoons of it instead.
    • Worcestershire sauce adds depth of flavor and great umami to the burgers. If you don’t have any, feel free to leave it out or substitute 1 tablespoon of BBQ sauce.
    • I use Hawaiian rolls but you could use any slider buns you like.
    • I love cheddar cheese on cheeseburgers but you could use any cheese you like-- pepper jack, mild cheddar, or brie are all delicious.
    • Ketchup adds sweetness and acidity to the burgers to cut through all of the fat. I serve the ketchup on the side so people can add as much or as little as they like.
    • Sweet chili sauce adds a bit of heat and additional sweetness to the ketchup. Trust me, it’s delicious!
    • Grating the garlic with a microplane zester helps it incorporate more smoothly into the ketchup. If you don’t have a microplane you can substitute 1 teaspoon of garlic powder.
    • Basil adds unexpected herbaceous flavor to the ketchup. You could substitute 1 teaspoon fresh minced thyme or ½ teaspoon fresh minced rosemary if you prefer.

    Steps to make cheeseburger sliders

    How to make beef sliders

    1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
    2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the beef, kosher salt, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, and smoked paprika.
    3. Press the beef into a single layer in the bottom of a 9" x 13" pan.
    4. Bake for 18-20 minutes or until the beef is cooked through.
    5. Remove the beef from the pan. Drain and discard any excess grease. Set cooked beef aside.

    How to prepare the sliders

    1. Slice the sliders in half horizontally and place the bottom portion of the bun on a sheet pan.
    2. Place the beef on top and add the cheddar cheese on top of the beef.
    3. Place the top portion of the buns on the cheddar cheese.
    4. If you want the sliders to have the classic cheeseburger look, brush the top of the rolls with melted butter and sprinkle over sesame seeds. ( Optional)
    5. Bake at 350°F for 15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the buns are crisp. Remove from the oven and slice into sliders
    6. Serve with garlic ketchup (recipe below).

    Garlic Ketchup

    1. In a small bowl, combine together the ketchup, sweet chili sauce, grated garlic, and julienned basil.
    2. Store in an air-tight covered container in the refrigerator until ready to serve.

    Store in an airtight covered container in the refrigerator for up to three days.
