Expert Tips
Expert Tip: Don't lift the lid during the cooking of the noodles. Removing the lid will slow down the cooking time.
Frequently Asked Questions
I don't recommend freezing it, the noodles will become mushy.
To reheat, add a couple of tablespoons of water or milk and then heat in a microwave-safe dish string every 30 seconds until heated through.
I used an 8-quart slow cooker. I don't recommend using a smaller one.
Variations
- Substitute ground beef with ground turkey or chicken.
- Instead of beef broth, use vegetable broth or chicken broth if you need to.
- Add sliced mushrooms to the skillet when you add the onion and garlic to increase the vegetables in this dish.
- Add 2 teaspoons of Italian seasoning to the sauce for more flavor.
- Stir in a few tablespoons of heavy cream just before serving for an extra creamy touch.
