    👩🏻‍🍳Eileen's Tips for Success

    • For best results, use 1 ¼ cups of water for every cup of rice. This ratio will ensure the grains are perfectly cooked and not dry or mushy.
    • Be sure to let the pressure release naturally for 10 minutes before releasing any remaining pressure manually.
    • If you prefer to rinse your rice, you can do that in a colander before you add it to the pressure cooker.
    • This method is best for long-grain white rice only. Brown rice will need additional water and cooking time.

    📋 Frequently Asked Questions

How many cups of water for 1 cup of rice in an Instant Pot?

The ratio for cooking perfect white rice in an Instant Pot is 1 ¼ cups of water to 1 cup of long-grain white rice.

    Can I double this recipe?

Yes, you can double the recipe as long as you are using a 6 quart Instant Pot or larger. The cook time will remain the same but make sure you double the water.

How do I know when the rice is done?

Make ahead - You can make the rice ahead of time, let it cool completely, and then store it in an airtight container in the refrigerator until you are ready to use it.

Freezing - Rice can be frozen for up to 3 months. To freeze, let the cooked rice cool completely and then package it in airtight freezer bags or containers.

Reheating - Reheat rice by adding a little water or oil and microwaving it until warmed through. Alternatively, you can reheat on the stovetop with a few tablespoons of liquid (water or broth) over medium-low heat.

    Tips:
You can easily double or triple this recipe. However, you do not need to adjust the cooking times as the rice will cook evenly with a larger amount of rice.
    ●     I used a 6-quart pot. However, none of the steps should change if your pot is smaller or bigger than mine.
    ●     I do not suggest using minute rice for this recipe. I use long-grain white rice and it cooks up beautifully.
