Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F. Prepare a 9" x 13" baking dish with nonstick cooking spray. Place the green beans in the prepared baking dish. Pour heavy cream over the green beans. Season with salt, black pepper, minced garlic, and lemon zest. Toss the beans lightly to coat.
  2. Top the beans with both Parmesan and shredded gouda cheese. Cover the baking tray with aluminum foil.
  3. Place the baking dish in the preheated oven for 25 minutes, beans will be tender and cheese almost completely melted.
  4. Remove the foil, and place the baking pan back in the oven for an additional 5 minutes to completely melt all the cheese. The green beans will be fork tender.
  5. The beans are ready to be served.

Storage

Leftovers can be kept in an airtight covered container for about 1 day.

You can prep the string beans ahead and keep them in a pot of water in the refrigerator up to overnight before preparing the recipe.

Due to the dairy ingredients, do not freeze this recipe as the cream can develop a curdled texture when defrosted.
